Transport & Accommodation

– We hired a well recommended driver (Hani) to take us.

– Very affordable, excellent knowledge and a lot of colleagues had hired him previously.

– Hani: +962 7 9536 6510

– Hani’s Tour Company: https://www.facebook.com/joMountains?mibextid=ZbWKwL

– Mention that he was recommended (from Dubai). He has given permission to share his details here.

– Share your Itinerary with him in advance. This gives him an opportunity to arrange his own accommodation.

– He is also very good at recommending itineraries and local advice. Don’t be afraid to ask!!!

Accommodation

Petra: Lots of Cheap Hotels to choose from (85-110 JOD Per Night)

Most are within easy walking distance from the ticket office / entrance for Petra.

Wadi Rum: Hani arranged our stay in a desert camp. Double Bed in a small hut / tent. One large community tent with a fire and buffet food provided.

Petra

Petra Pass is 50Jd (1 day) or 55JD (2 days).

– ‘Petra at Night’ requires additional ticket purchase (17JD).

– Kids under 12 are free for the day passes.

– Kids under 10 are free for the ‘Petra at Night’.

– Site opens at 6.30am.

– The Treasury is the most famous landmark, but the Monastery is as impressive and far quieter. A great place to stop for some Turkish coffee and snacks opposite too!

– The Monastery is 2.5km uphill after the 4km main trail. Be sure to refill or buy water before your ascent!
